Synopsis 

Shocking cinematic farewell to cinephile Hans Saaltink.
A highly personal and at times shocking cinematic farewell that filmmaker Cyrus Frisch made of and for his friend, mentor, and teacher Hans Saaltink. Saaltink, a cinephile, film critic, festival programmer, and distribution advisor, died of a heart attack on his sixty-eighth birthday, and Frisch was as a neighbor nearby at the most intimate moment of his life: his death.

Much loved Hans Saaltink, journalist, teacher and founder of the Rotterdam Film Festival was a pillar of the Dutch Film World. After the death of his beloved boyfriend Hans becomes isolated, confused and ignored by the Industry. After Hans’ tragic death director and friend Cyrus Frisch makes sure that Hans Saaltink does not part unnoticed, and that his life is kept in memory.

The filmmaker let the camera roll, resulting in a bold form of cinema verité, which naturally not everyone could appreciate.
